The City Labor Federation requested the grassroots Trade Union to implement the Trade Union Meal from July 20 to September 2, focusing on the week of Vietnam Trade Union Foundation Day (July 28) and National Day (September 2).
"Union Meals" must demonstrate the mark and role of the Union organization through dialogue and negotiation with employers and implementation organizations, in order to implement Conclusion No. 03/KL-BCH dated January 18, 2022 of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on improving the quality of workers' shift meals.
Ensure mid-shift meals and lunches at a higher cost than usual through support from the Trade Union; implement food safety and hygiene well; do not greatly affect the production and business activities of the enterprise; be suitable to the actual conditions of the unit and enterprise, aiming for all workers to enjoy "Trade Union Meals".
According to the Guidelines, the subjects implementing "Union Meals" include: Grassroots Trade Unions of units and enterprises (or member grassroots Trade Unions, Trade Union groups, Trade Union departments where there are many union members) in places where mid-shift meals or daily lunches are organized at the workplace for union members and employees.
Grassroots trade unions of units and enterprises in places that have not yet organized mid-shift meals or daily lunches at the workplace for union members and employees, if the leaders of the unit or enterprise agree to coordinate and agree on the location to organize the "Trade Union Meal", can apply this Guide.
The "Union Meal" program is an activity organized by Trade Unions at all levels (superior grassroots level, grassroots level, member grassroots Trade Unions, departmental Trade Unions, Trade Union groups) in coordination with unit heads and employers. This is an opportunity for employees, Trade Union organizations and leaders of units and enterprises to share and listen to their thoughts and aspirations, creating an atmosphere of solidarity and understanding, thereby building trust and attachment of union members and employees to the Trade Union organization and enterprises. At the same time, it is necessary to take good care of the material and spiritual life, aiming to build long-term welfare programs for union members and employees.
At the same time, the program was organized to create a media highlight to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19), the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2) and the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union, thereby attracting, gathering and developing union members, closely connecting union members and workers with the Trade Union organization.
