Summer tourism boom

As one of the country's leading tourist destinations, Quang Ninh will truly "explode" this summer with a series of vibrant and captivating cultural and entertainment activities and events. Visitors will not only be immersed in the lively and large-scale festival atmosphere but also experience many new and attractive tourism products. The five-day April 30th - May 1st holiday is the ideal time for tourists to begin their summer travel plans. Quang Ninh will welcome visitors with a series of attractive cultural, sports , and entertainment events, most notably the Ha Long Carnival 2025, taking place at 8 PM on May 1st in Bai Chay ward - a program that has become a tourism brand of the province.

With the theme "Ha Long Carnival 2025 - Connecting Heritage, Pioneering and Shining," the program consists of four parts: the opening art performance; the Ha Long Carnival grand dance; DJ performances; and a high-altitude fireworks display. The highlight of the program is the convergence of intangible heritage from all three regions of Vietnam, honoring national identity against the backdrop of a world natural wonder, combined with modern technologies such as 3D mapping, lasers, and light shows. The grandstand for the Ha Long Carnival 2025 is also the largest ever designed, with a total of 15,000 seats to serve the public and tourists (an increase of 5,000 seats compared to 2024).

Besides the Carnival, Ha Long City also offers a series of attractive festivals and events such as: the Beer and Squid Cake Festival, the Lion-Dragon Dance Festival, the Tran Quoc Nghien Temple Festival, the Kite Festival, motorized kite flying demonstrations and paragliding… creating a lively festive atmosphere throughout the beautiful coastal city.

If you enjoy exploring local culture and unspoiled nature, Binh Lieu will be an ideal destination for you this holiday season. Visitors will be immersed in the vibrant atmosphere of the Wind-Avoiding Festival, rich in the cultural colors of the Dao Thanh Phan ethnic group.

From April 30th to May 4th, Dong Van commune will host a series of activities including: the opening ceremony of the 2025 Wind-Avoiding Festival; art performances and exchanges; traditional sports competitions (stick pushing, tug-of-war, throwing the ball, spinning tops, etc.); a folk games space for tourists to experience; a traditional market on Wind-Avoiding Day; and a tourism program offering homestay experiences, local cuisine, and trekking through the forest in Dong Van commune…

In Mong Cai, tourists will have the opportunity to experience unique beach and border tourism products, promising unforgettable experiences. The city will hold an event to announce the demarcation of Tra Co beach, a water entertainment area, and a tourism experience on the Bac Luan border river on April 29th at the Tra Co National Tourist Area, Sa Vy Cape. This will be followed by a series of beach and water sports activities at Tra Co beach, such as: women's football, jet ski demonstrations and kayaking (April 29th); kite festival and beach volleyball (April 30th).

In addition, there are: the art program "Mong Cai - Rising in the New Era" taking place on the evening of April 30th at the City's Central Communication and Culture Square; the Mong Cai Tourism and Food Festival 2025 taking place from April 28th to May 4th at the Ka Long border gate waiting area (Tran Phu ward); the Mong Cai (Vietnam) - Dongxing (China) cross-border cycling race on May 1st; and a Vietnamese-Chinese culinary and cultural exchange on May 1st at the Vinhomes Golden Avenue urban area in Mong Cai...

Not only Ha Long, Mong Cai, and Binh Lieu, but all localities and tourism service businesses in the province are actively preparing thoroughly to welcome tourists, launching new tourism products and attractive promotional programs to attract visitors during the peak summer season.

The Grand Pioneers luxury cruise ship, owned by Viet Thuan Transport Co., Ltd., operates on the "Heritage Connection Journey" in Bai Tu Long Bay and Ha Long Bay.

Notably, at the end of March, Quang Ninh officially launched its Bai Tu Long Bay sightseeing and tourism itineraries. Each itinerary offers unique experiences, from admiring the magnificent natural landscape to learning about the cultural life of local fishermen. Tourists can not only visit and relax at famous destinations such as Quan Lan Island and Minh Chau Island, but also explore new and attractive destinations such as Phat Co Island, home to Phat Co Cave - one of the largest caves in Bai Tu Long Bay. Also in the second quarter of 2025, localities in the province are expected to launch many new, unique, and attractive tourism products to create more highlights for local tourism. Specifically: Uong Bi City will launch the VR360 virtual reality tour product, introducing the city's prominent destinations. Mong Cai City will implement a City tour program to explore the city's vibrant nightlife by electric vehicle. Van Don District will develop a community-based ecotourism tour with the "A Day as a Fisherman" activity and explore the culture and history of Ngoc Vung Island; and simultaneously launch the Sonasea Van Don Harbour City night market.

In Hai Ha, tourists can experience kayaking and take boat tours to explore Cai Chien island commune. Binh Lieu district also introduces kayaking on the Binh Lieu river, offering a close-to-nature experience. Co To district is accelerating the development of a project to develop tours to Co To Con, Hon Ca Chep, and Hon Su Tu islands in Dong Tien commune…

Introducing new, attractive, and highly experiential tourism products will not only contribute to diversifying Quang Ninh's tourism offerings but also create momentum to attract tourists, striving to achieve the target of welcoming 5.3 million visitors and generating an estimated total tourism revenue of approximately 14,720 billion VND in the second quarter of 2025.
