Colonel Nguyen Minh Tuan - Deputy Chief of Office of the Investigation Police Agency
Colonel Nguyen Minh Tuan - Deputy Chief of Office of the Investigation Police Agency (C01, Ministry of Public Security ) said that the unit is handling 6 cases of manufacturing and trading counterfeit goods, with a scale of nearly 10,000 billion VND.
According to Colonel Nguyen Minh Tuan, C01 is currently investigating 6 cases of counterfeit goods production and trade. Previously, counterfeit goods production and trade cases were conducted secretly, concealed, disguised, and on a small scale. However, currently, the subjects produce and trade openly under the guise of legal businesses, producing on an industrial scale.
“The amount of counterfeit goods sold in the market in the six cases is worth nearly VND10,000 billion. This is the difference,” said Colonel Nguyen Minh Tuan.
According to Deputy Chief of Office C01, in each case, leaders of the Ministry of Public Security always raise questions about state management responsibilities, and at the same time clarify the reasons why subjects can commit crimes on a large scale and over a long period of time.
“Counterfeit cases are developing very quickly, very widely, and very worryingly. During the investigation and comparison of legal regulations and food safety management, we found that a new regulation has recently been opened,” Colonel Nguyen Minh Tuan stated.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan said that creating an open corridor is almost like a loophole, leading to difficulty in managing and controlling the quality of goods.
In particular, there is a provision allowing businesses to self-declare quality standards and take responsibility without conducting pre-inspection before circulating goods.
It is known that C01 has reported to the Ministry's leaders to advise the Government and sectors to amend and supplement legal regulations to ensure stricter crime prevention work.
