BYD Atto 2 from only 338 million VND is about to launch in Vietnam

Since its launch in the Vietnamese market in mid-2024, the Chinese brand BYD has continuously added vehicles to its product portfolio. After Sealion 6 and Sealion 8 launched in April 2025, BYD is preparing to launch another new model in Vietnam, the Atto 2.

The sale of BYD Atto 2 in Vietnam is not unexpected. Previously, this model was also introduced in the Thai market. BYD Atto 2 is known as Yuan Up in the domestic Chinese market.

This is a model that was first launched in the global market in February 2024 and is positioned between the BYD Dolphin and Atto 3. In the B-size SUV segment, the BYD Atto 2 has dimensions of length x width x height of 4,310 x 1,830 x 1,675 mm and a wheelbase of 2,620 mm.

With this size, the BYD rookie will be a direct competitor of VinFast VF 6. Specific information about the equipment of BYD Atto 2 for the Vietnamese market is still kept secret. Meanwhile, in the domestic market, this model has 2 transmission systems.

The first is the electric motor located on the front axle, producing a maximum output of 94 horsepower and a maximum torque of 180 Nm. This electric motor is powered by a 32 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery, which provides a range of 301 km according to CLTC standards. In addition, the car can also be equipped with a 45.12 kWh battery, increasing the range to 401 km.

The second is an electric motor also located on the front axle but with a maximum capacity of 174 horsepower and a maximum torque of 290 Nm, combined with a 45.12 kWh battery. This is also the powertrain used for the BYD Atto 2 in markets outside of China. This battery provides a driving range of 401 km according to the Chinese CLTC standard and 312 km according to the European WLTP standard.

In addition, this Chinese electric car model also supports DC fast charging with a maximum charging capacity of 45 kW with a 32 kWh battery and 65 kW with a 45.12 kWh battery. Thanks to that, the battery charging time from 10% to 80% is shortened to 37 minutes. Meanwhile, the time to fully charge the battery with an 11 kW AC slow charger mounted on the wall is about 5.5 hours.

In addition, the BYD Atto 2 also has outstanding equipment such as 16-inch alloy wheels, 8.8-inch digital dashboard, 12.8-inch touch screen entertainment screen that rotates 90 degrees and electric front seats. The ADAS advanced driving assistance system is an optional feature of the car.

The selling price of BYD Atto 2 in Vietnam is still unknown. Meanwhile, in the Chinese market, BYD Atto 2 is sold with 5 equipment versions and prices from 96,800 - 119,800 Yuan (equivalent to 338 - 419 million VND).
