Ca Mau: Continue to restore memorial sites and relics of the art of amateur singing

For a long time, Bac Lieu province (old) has been known as the “cradle” of Southern amateur music. Immediately after the merger of Bac Lieu and Ca Mau provinces, Ca Mau province (new) continued to focus on speeding up the project of renovating and preventing the degradation of the Southern amateur music and musician Cao Van Lau Memorial Site in Bac Lieu ward.

Accordingly, for many years now, the Southern Folk Music and Musician Cao Van Lau Memorial Site has been considered a famous tourist destination of the province and a typical one of the Mekong Delta region. It always attracts a large number of domestic and foreign tourists to visit.

The memorial area located on Ninh Binh Street, Bac Lieu Ward is recognized by the Mekong Delta Tourism Association as a typical tourist destination and recognized by the People's Committee of Bac Lieu Province (old) as a 4-star OCOP product in the tourism sector.

The memorial site is also a national historical site and one of the 12 typical tourist attractions in the Mekong Delta. After many years of exploitation, due to the impact of weather and environment, many items in the campus have been seriously degraded...

In order to continue to pay attention to the Southern Traditional Music and Musician Cao Van Lau Memorial Site, and at the same time to contribute to tourism development, the local government and functional agencies have decided to invest nearly 5 billion VND to renovate and upgrade this memorial site. Currently, the project is continuing to accelerate construction, expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
