Singer Nguyen Phi Hung revealed that his family once told him they would disown him because he was too busy, and that on the 30th of Tet he still had not contacted his parents.

"I usually celebrate Tet on the 6th. On New Year's Eve and the main day of Tet, I always focus on the audience.

However, Tet for the past 24 years has not been the same because each year Tet is celebrated in a different region, so I feel it is special.

Even though I can't celebrate Tet with my family, I always feel excited and emotional every time I perform during Tet when I see tens of thousands of people stepping out into the streets with enthusiasm. Tet for the community is one of the biggest wishes of artists, so my family is very understanding and sympathetic," the male singer said.

Because he dedicates the entire Tet holiday to the audience, for Nguyen Phi Hung, after Tet is the time he can truly reunite with his family.

The male singer humorously revealed that he can spend the whole month of January to reunite with his family. During this time, he goes to wish New Year’s greetings, goes to pagodas with his parents, and welcomes relatives from far away…

One of the most memorable memories of Tet that Nguyen Phi Hung will always remember is the time his family disowned him on the 30th of Tet because he was too busy and did not contact his parents.

The male singer recalled: "By the 30th of Tet, my family had not heard from me so they were worried and could not call me. Waiting was so tiring that my family got upset and asked an acquaintance to tell me that if I called, they should say it was from me.

When I received the news, I was shocked and knew that Tet was important to my parents but I had neglected it. But because of work pressure, I could not excuse anyone and just silently worked.

When I realized the important moment was approaching, I suddenly woke up and tried to fly back on the 30th of Tet."

Returning home after hearing the "bad" news, singer Nguyen Phi Hung thought he would hear some blame, but when he entered the house, he was hugged by his father, moved to tears. That moment made the male singer choke up.

Nguyen Phi Hung recalled: "I imagined a storm, but when I actually entered the house, my father hugged me and cried. I was very touched because my father was a strict person who never expressed his love for his children, but at that moment he burst into tears and said he was afraid I would be hurt and did not come home."

The reason Nguyen Phi Hung was so busy that he did not contact his family was because at that time he had just entered the music industry and had not revealed it to his relatives.

It was only when the male singer expressed his career orientation that his parents understood and sympathized. However, thanks to this event, he and his family became more connected and understood each other better.

"My family has always been my support, even though I didn't have a complete Tet, but my parents always understand me, and even in marriage, my parents always stand by me, to give peace and love to their children.

"Maybe society has prejudices and thoughts, but when I come home, I am loved. This is what makes me feel that Tet is never too late," the singer confided.

Nguyen Phi Hung was born in 1977 in Hanoi . He entered the art world as a ballet dancer. He graduated from the Vietnam Dance School with a major in ballet and spent some time pursuing a career as a professional dancer at the Central Light Music and Dance Troupe.

He has participated in many dance plays such as: "Into Life", "The Hunchback of Notre Dame"...

After that, he turned to pursue a singing career. In 2001, he emerged as a phenomenon with many Chinese songs with Vietnamese lyrics such as: "Lonely Love", "Vanishing Rain", "I Don't Want to Leave", "Your Shape".
