
Binh Thuan has 34 communes, wards and towns in 7 districts, towns and cities located in the coastal border area. Implementing the program "Accompanying women in the border areas" for the period 2021 - 2025, the two units have proactively developed a plan to disseminate and educate the law to officials and people. In particular, it encourages women to encourage their husbands and children to go offshore and stick to the sea, ready to participate in the struggle to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland; raise the sense of responsibility, strictly comply with the provisions of the law when working at sea, especially fishing and exploiting seafood sustainably and not encroaching on the waters of neighboring countries to exploit seafood. At the same time, build production models, organize study tours, mobilize credit and savings capital and take advantage of other capital sources, create jobs for women in coastal localities and ethnic minority and mountainous areas to develop the economy, increase income, and contribute to the goal of hunger eradication and poverty reduction.

Ms. Phan Thi Vi Van - Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union said: Every year, the two agencies develop a plan to conduct a survey of poor households, poor households headed by women, and classify those who need priority and assistance. Launch the movement "Women follow Uncle Ho's teachings, practice saving to help each other sustainably reduce poverty". Up to now, the Women's Union at all levels has established 64 livelihood models with 620 members. Typical models include "Dragon fruit production to respond to climate change", "Making plastic baskets", "Raising black pigs", "Helping 1 poor household each month", "2 rice, 1 color"... Along with that, maintaining and promoting 761 savings groups, capital contribution groups, revolving capital contribution groups to help each other develop the family economy , with a total capital of more than 70 billion VND, helping nearly 19,000 women borrow.

In addition, on the occasion of holidays and Tet, the Association at all levels from the province to the grassroots level mobilized social resources to visit and give gifts to policy families, families with revolutionary contributions, Association officials, HVPNs in difficult circumstances, lonely elderly people, and poor children with a total value of over 16.2 billion VND. Currently, the whole province has 42 children adopted as "Border Guard Adopted Children" and 12 foster children under the Project "Army officers and soldiers help children go to school".
Through many meaningful activities, the "accompanying" of the provincial Women's Union at all levels with the Border Guard has contributed to strengthening the solidarity between the army and the people. Solid houses have been built, renovated and repaired on old land to help ethnic minority women settle down. Herds of cows, chickens and orchards are growing and developing. Clothes, books and scholarships are motivating the children, nurturing green shoots on the path of learning to build their homeland...

With the goal of supporting and accompanying disadvantaged women and children in coastal and island areas and ethnic minorities to have a better life, Ms. Phan Thi Vi Van said: The Provincial Women's Union and the Provincial Border Guard will continue to coordinate and implement the program in a broad and effective manner. Propagating to the Women's Union to see their role and responsibility to work with the Border Guard to manage and protect the sovereignty of the sea, islands, and social order and safety in the coastal border area. Along with that, building and effectively implementing social security models and programs, mobilizing women to continue to practice and practice good moral qualities: Confidence, self-respect, loyalty, and responsibility so that women in coastal and ethnic minority areas can confidently rise up in life.
