According to 9to5Google , Gmail has officially rolled out a new AI-powered search feature, promising to deliver the "most relevant" results quickly for users on Android, iOS, and the web.
Specifically, in a blog post, Google introduced a smarter search feature powered by AI that helps show Gmail users the most relevant results faster.
Previously, Google's email service typically displayed emails containing relevant keywords in chronological order or showed "Top Results" before other emails.
With this update, Gmail users can choose to see the most relevant search results. This feature will consider various factors such as the time of sending, the most clicked emails, and frequently used contacts.
"The emails you're looking for are more likely to be at the top of the search results. This saves you valuable time and makes it easier to find important information without having to scroll endlessly through emails from months or years ago," Google said.
This "most relevant" search feature will be rolled out globally for individual accounts. Meanwhile, the exact timing for its availability on business accounts remains unclear.
For users who still prefer the traditional search method, Google still offers a chronological email display option.
