From June 16, candidates can look up the second round of the 2025 Ho Chi Minh City National University's capacity assessment test scores at the website https://thinangluc.vnuhcm.edu.vn/dgnl/
Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh, Director of the Center for Testing and Training Quality Assessment of Ho Chi Minh City National University, said that the score distribution information of the second round of 2025 is close to the standard distribution, the score range is wide, and there is a slight "rightward" tendency compared to the first round.
This may be due to reasons such as out of the total number of candidates taking the second round, there are more than 65,000 candidates who have taken the first round. This is a group of candidates with good ability or better, with first round exam scores higher than the average.

Next, the second round takes place about two months after the first round, giving candidates more time to review and consolidate their knowledge. At the same time, due to the experience in the first round, candidates have more experience in taking the test, have better time management skills and exam room psychology, so their test results can be improved.
In total, nearly 153,000 candidates took the two 2025 capacity assessment exams, equivalent to more than 223,000 exam entries.
In the first round of this exam held last March, the average score of candidates was 618.4 points out of a total of 126,297, with 142 candidates scoring over 1,000 points on a scale of 1,200. The candidate with the highest score in the exam was 1,060 points and the candidate with the lowest score was 40 points.
Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh shared that the distribution of the 2025 capacity assessment test scores clearly shows the characteristics of a near-normal distribution with a balanced bell shape, showing that the test is capable of effectively classifying candidates.
The mean score (662.78) and median score (653.0) were nearly equal, reflecting symmetry in the score distribution, with no significant bias toward high or low scores.
The standard deviation of 159.70 shows a reasonable level of score dispersion, helping to clearly distinguish between groups of candidates with different abilities.
The score range from 120 to 1,122 shows the diversity of candidates' qualifications. According to Mr. Chinh, this helps universities and colleges easily determine the appropriate admission threshold for each group of candidates.
Regarding the scale of this exam, in 2025 the number of candidates participating increased by nearly one and a half times compared to previous years. Regarding the exam results compared to last year, they still maintained stability, with the average score fluctuating around 640-665, the median score fluctuating from 629 to 654.
Electronic exam result certificates will be issued from June 23.
The Ho Chi Minh City National University Aptitude Test is considered the largest university entrance exam in the country. Currently, more than 110 highereducation institutions have registered to use the results of this exam for admission in 2025.
