Cam Son launches model new rural commune

(ABO) On January 15, Cai Lay District People's Committee held a ceremony to announce the Decision of the Chairman of Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee recognizing Cam Son commune as a model new rural area (NTM).

Comrade Nguyen Van Vinh and Comrade Nguyen Van Muoi awarded the Certificate of recognition of achieving the model new rural standards and the symbolic plaque of donation of 500 million VND for welfare works to Cam Son commune.

After achieving the NTM standard in 2017 and the advanced NTM standard in 2020, Cam Son commune continued to improve the quality of the achieved criteria, mobilized all resources to continue promoting infrastructure renovation, and strived to achieve the model NTM standard. As a result, in 2023, Cam Son commune was recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as achieving the model NTM standard.

Comrade Nguyen Van Vinh awarded Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee to individuals with achievements in the model new rural construction movement.

Up to now, the rural appearance of Cam Son commune has been renewed and more spacious: Economic and social infrastructure has been completed, ecological environment has been protected... The material and spiritual life of the people has been improved. The cultural and social fields have made much progress, cultural institutions have been invested synchronously, the quality of education and training has continued to be improved, social security has been well implemented.

The political system is consolidated, improved and operates effectively. Political security and social order and safety are maintained. Rural roads are invested in to be spacious - clean - beautiful with lighting systems combined with planting flowers and trees.

Environmental management has been improved, associated with the dissemination of environmental protection awareness; commodity agriculture has been increasingly valued, contributing positively to improving people's income and living conditions.

Specifically, up to now, the average income per capita of the commune has reached nearly 76 million VND/year, an increase of more than 30 million VND compared to the time of launching the new rural commune (2017) and more than 14 million VND compared to the time of launching the advanced new rural commune (2020).

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of Cai Lay District People's Committee Tran Quoc Binh said that Cam Son is the first commune in the district to achieve the title of Model New Rural Area. This is a joy, a great honor, and a source of pride for the Party Committee, government, and people of Cam Son commune as well as the entire Cai Lay district.

Individuals with achievements receive Certificates of Merit from the District People's Committee.

Besides, comrade Tran Quoc Binh suggested that the Party Committee, government and people of Cam Son commune in particular and Cai Lay district in general need to identify building new rural areas as an important, regular and long-term political task of the entire political system.

At the same time, the locality needs to further promote the initiative, creativity, and spirit of solidarity in implementing the new rural criteria; seek and mobilize the participation and contributions of all classes of people and businesses, creating a strong spillover effect throughout society to join hands in building the new rural area so that the new rural criteria are increasingly improved and sustainable. The commune needs to promote implementation, build models of production development, increase income for people, with the biggest goal of building the new rural area being to increase income, improve the material and spiritual life of the people.

"In particular, the Party Committee, government and people of Cam Son commune must be more determined and not complacent; it is necessary to continue reviewing the level of achievement of each criterion and propose a plan to consolidate and improve the quality of criteria in a sustainable manner, building Cam Son commune to continuously develop" - Comrade Tran Quoc Binh suggested.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee and Cai Lay District People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the movement to build model new rural areas in Cam Son commune.
