On August 16, Mr. Hoang Dinh De - deputy head of the construction team of Trung Chinh Company - said that the construction teams are making steel for the bridge deck and completing 3 mid-span girders to prepare for the closing ceremony of My Thuan 2 Bridge . This is a very important step because the last girders are the most difficult to do. "We have to calculate the load of these spans before we can do the last girders because they are related to the global elevation," Mr. De said. At this time, hundreds of engineers and workers are taking advantage of favorable weather conditions, "compensating for the rain with the sun", speeding up construction to ensure the progress to reach the finish line by the end of this year as planned. Mr. Trinh Truong Hai - executive director of My Thuan 2 Bridge project ( Project Management Board 7 - Ministry of Transport ) - said that the overall progress of the project has reached about 88%. The two main pillars of My Thuan 2 Bridge, T15 and T16, have been completed, and 13/16 cable-stayed cables have been tensioned. The project has completed the border spans on both Vinh Long and Tien Giang banks of the bridge, and is expected to complete the main span in October 2023. Currently, the construction site of My Thuan 2 Bridge is entering the final stage, with only about 5 months left to complete the construction.

The My Thuan 2 Bridge project started construction in February 2020 with a length of 6.61km, of which the main bridge is about 1.9km long, designed with 6 lanes, and a design speed of 80km/h. My Thuan 2 Bridge is expected to be completed by the end of 2023, along with the Trung Luong - My Thuan and My Thuan - Can Tho expressways, which will complete the expressway connecting Ho Chi Minh City to Can Tho, shortening travel time from 4 hours at present to about 2 hours in the future.
