Balancing resources for expanding National Highway 14G through Da Nang.

According to the Ministry of Transport , under the Road Network Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, National Highway 14G, 66 km long, connects Hoa Vang district (Da Nang city) with Dong Giang district (Quang Nam province), with a road classification of IV, 2 lanes.

Voters in Da Nang City have requested the upgrading and expansion of National Highway 14G passing through the area to ensure traffic safety.

Of that, the section passing through Da Nang City is approximately 25km long and currently has a Class V road standard, with a width of 5.5m.

During the period 2021-2025, on National Highway 14G, the Ministry of Transport prioritized investment in putting into operation four bridges (at Km32+480, Vang River, Doc Rua 2, and Kon River) using JICA loan funds from Japan; and conducted research to prepare for investment in a project to upgrade and expand National Highway 14G. However, due to resource constraints, funding has not yet been allocated for this investment.

The Ministry of Transport acknowledges the voters' recommendations and, during the process of developing the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2026-2030, based on the ability to balance resources and the principles of capital allocation as prescribed, the Ministry of Transport will consider reporting to the competent authority on investing in National Highway 14G.

To ensure traffic safety on the route, the Ministry of Transport has assigned the Vietnam Road Administration to allocate 47 billion VND in 2023-2024 and is expected to allocate approximately 3.9 billion VND this year for the maintenance and upkeep of National Highway 14G.

Regarding the proposal to study the connection of the DT601 route with Nam Dong district, Thua Thien Hue province, the Ministry of Transport agrees on the necessity of investing in the DT601 route (37km long, connecting Da Nang city with Thua Thien Hue province) to meet transportation needs and create convenient connections for people to travel.

However, the DT601 road is a local road, managed and invested in by the Da Nang City People's Committee. Therefore, we request that the Da Nang City People's Committee prioritize allocating funds for investment in this road and inform the voters of Da Nang City about the road's investment plan and scale. The Ministry of Transport will closely coordinate with Da Nang City during the project's implementation.
