Can Tho joins forces with Thu Duc and Thanh Hoa to promote investment.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City pledged that the city will stand alongside, create all conditions, and provide the most active support to businesses and investors when they come to invest in the locality.

This commitment was made by Mr. Tran Viet Truong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, at the Investment and Trade Promotion Conference between Can Tho City, Thu Duc City (Ho Chi Minh City), and Thanh Hoa Province, held on the afternoon of August 16th.

At the conference, leaders from the three localities informed approximately 350 delegates, representing 220 businesses from the three localities, about their strengths and plans. The aim was to attract investors and businesses to invest and operate in the area, and to discuss plans to strengthen linkages between localities and businesses within each locality.

Mr. Tran Viet Truong introduced the strengths of Can Tho City to investors and businesses, such as its central location in the Mekong Delta region, its seamless and interconnected road, air, and waterway transportation systems, and its future potential to form a logistics system for the entire Mekong Delta region. Furthermore, Resolution 59-NQ/TW of the Politburo sets the goal that by 2030, Can Tho will become an ecological, civilized, and modern city; the central and core urban area of ​​the Mekong Delta region.

Mr. Truong cited the assessment of many investors who believe that Can Tho has great potential thanks to its geographical location and increasingly完善 transportation system. The central government has been focusing many resources on investing in the development of the Mekong Delta region, including Can Tho. This has created increasingly convenient connections between Can Tho and other provinces in the region, as well as Ho Chi Minh City and other areas.

"Can Tho City will stand alongside, create all conditions, and provide the most active support to businesses and investors when they come to do business in the city," the Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City pledged.

Regarding Thu Duc City - Ho Chi Minh City, Vice Chairman Nguyen Bach Hoang Phung stated that Thu Duc is the first administrative unit to pilot the "city within a city" model. After three years of establishment, Thu Duc City has perfected its unique local government apparatus, accelerated investment with a series of infrastructure projects serving socio-economic development, and opened up investment opportunities for businesses.

Thu Duc City is focusing on forming and developing 11 urban areas based on science, technology, and innovation, creating the conditions for Thu Duc to become a "nucleus" for promoting economic development in Ho Chi Minh City and the Southern key economic region.

Representatives from the Thanh Hoa Provincial Business Association stated that the province has a favorable location with a full range of transportation options, from roads, waterways, and maritime to railways and air transport. In particular, the Nghi Son Economic Zone has been selected by the Government as one of the eight key coastal economic zones, offering the most attractive investment incentives nationwide. The Prime Minister has approved the planning of 19 industrial zones and 115 industrial clusters in Thanh Hoa province, giving it advantages in terms of land and human resources.

Alongside the conference, there was also an exhibition space with 70 booths showcasing products and industries manufactured and sold by businesses in the three localities. The activity aimed to introduce and facilitate connections between purchasing units and distributors in the three localities to seek opportunities for cooperation, investment, and market expansion.

At this event, the Investment Promotion Center, business associations, and entrepreneurs' associations of the three localities signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the units.
