According to a report from SCMP , Xiaomi is making a big bet on artificial intelligence (AI) by pouring massive resources into open-source models. Last month, the company unveiled its latest AI model, "MiMo-V2.5-Pro." The independent review platform Artificial Analysis immediately ranked it as the world's leading open-source model in terms of autonomous capabilities (agentic capabilities). This term refers to the ability of an AI system to perform complex, multi-step tasks independently without human intervention.

Topping the rankings marks a rapid leap forward, considering Xiaomi only began releasing open-source AI systems a year ago. To maintain this momentum, the company has just committed over $8.8 billion to AI-related investments over the next three years. This figure confirms the company's ambition to independently develop the most advanced AI models.
