Warning about buying and selling fake drugs on social networks

According to the Lao Cai Provincial Department of Health , the Drug Administration has just announced that the agency has received a document from Rouse Vietnam Law Company Limited reporting the discovery of product samples suspected of being counterfeit drugs, drugs of unknown origin with the label "IMPLANON NXT", along with information posted for sale on the e-commerce sites Shopee and Lazada.

On that basis, the Department of Drug Administration issued Official Dispatch No. 6581/QLD-KD dated June 22, 2023 on the implementation of pharmaceutical business regulations, notifying products suspected of being counterfeit drugs, drugs of unknown origin on the label "IMPLANON NXT".

To ensure that business activities are in accordance with regulations, to avoid the use of drugs of unknown origin, of poor quality and to ensure safety for users, in Lao Cai province, the Lao Cai Provincial Department of Health requests that medical facilities, drug wholesalers and retailers in the province do not trade, distribute or use drugs without invoices or documents proving their origin.

Proactively inform and propagate to people not to buy drugs through information on the internet, only buy drugs at legal pharmaceutical businesses, with full invoices and documents proving the origin and quality of the drugs.

For the Office of People's Council & People's Committee of districts, towns, cities, notify private medical practice establishments, pharmaceutical business establishments in the management area and proactively coordinate with relevant agencies to strengthen inspection, check the origin, source, quality of drugs at pharmaceutical business establishments; strictly handle violations (if any) according to current regulations.

People also need to find information, do not buy medicine on the internet, only buy medicine at legal pharmaceutical businesses, with full invoices and documents proving the origin and quality of the medicine.
