Warning of heavy rain, flash floods, landslides in mountainous areas of the North

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on the day and night of July 9, in the mountainous areas of the North, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain, and locally very heavy rain with rainfall of 30-60mm, in some places more than 100mm (heavy rain is concentrated in the evening and at night).

In the Central Highlands and the South, this afternoon and evening (July 9), there will be showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with common rainfall of 15-30mm, in some places more than 50mm.

Warning, thunderstorms in the Central Highlands and Southern regions in the afternoon and evening are likely to last for many days to come.

Risk of flash floods, landslides in mountainous areas and flooding in low-lying areas; beware of heavy rain in a short period of time causing flooding in urban areas. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

Flash flood and landslide warning in Son La, Lai Chau, Ha Giang, Yen Bai and Phu Tho provinces

According to experts' forecasts, in the coming hours, in the provinces of Son La, Lai Chau, Ha Giang , Yen Bai and Phu Tho, there will continue to be rain with accumulated rainfall ranging from 20-50mm, in some places more than 80mm.

High risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes in the above areas, especially in the following districts:

- Bac Yen, Moc Chau, Van Ho, Yen Chau, Phu Yen, Mai Son, Muong La, Thuan Chau, Son La City, Song Ma (Son La) .

- Muong Te, Tam Duong, Sin Ho, Phong Tho ( Lai Chau) .

- Vi Xuyen, Bac Quang, Hoang Su Phi, Xin Man, Quang Binh, Bac Me, Ha Giang City, Quan Ba, Yen Minh (Ha Giang) .

- Mu Cang Chai, Tram Tau, Nghia Lo town, Van Chan, Van Yen, Tran Yen (Yen Bai).

- Tan Son, Yen Lap, Tam Nong, Cam Khe, Thanh Son (Phu Tho).
