On March 17, the Department of Education and Training of Gia Lai province said it had sent a document on preventing and combating crimes of fraud and appropriation of assets using telecommunications networks and the Internet to the Department of Education and Training of districts, towns and cities; the Center for Continuing Education and Vocational Education of districts and units under the Department; and non-publiceducational institutions.
Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training requests heads of units to urgently implement the dispatch of the Steering Committee for Crime Prevention and Social Evils. Strengthen propaganda among cadres, civil servants, public employees, students, and parents about methods and tricks of crime in general, and crimes using computer networks, telecommunications networks, and electronic means to appropriate property.
Especially acts of impersonating state officials, homeroom teachers; through social networks, online lending applications; virtual currency and cryptocurrency investment activities... In addition, propaganda and mobilization of family, relatives, friends, and the masses in the place of residence to grasp, understand, proactively prevent and denounce to the authorities when detecting suspected criminal activities of fraud and property appropriation.

Recently, some people impersonated teachers at Phan Boi Chau High School and called parents to inform them that their children had an accident to get money for emergency treatment.
The Department of Education and Training of Gia Lai province requires educational institutions to inform students and notify parents or through students to inform their families and relatives, and requests parents to be more vigilant against this scam. When receiving phone calls reporting the above issues, parents should proactively ask the caller to provide information about the location of the accident, the hospital where their children were taken for treatment, and immediately go to the medical facility where they are being treated.
In particular, do not arbitrarily transfer money to strangers to avoid being scammed or having your property stolen. In addition to reporting to the authorities when detecting suspected fraudulent criminal activities to appropriate property, the head of the unit must promptly report to the Department of Education and Training so that the Department can summarize and report to the Steering Committee.
As previously reported by the Journalists and Public Opinion Newspaper, some individuals impersonated teachers at Phan Boi Chau High School (Pleiku City, Gia Lai ) and called parents to inform them that their children had fallen down the stairs and were being treated at the hospital, and asked them to transfer money to pay for hospital fees. Fortunately, many parents had read the scam information beforehand, so they turned off their phones and did not talk much with the bad actors, and promptly reported it to the homeroom teacher and the school's Board of Directors.
