Beware of the trick of using ChatGPT to distort and sabotage

Recently, on some forums, social networking sites such as Facebook, Youtube, Twitter... of some reactionary organizations, groups, and overseas media with bad intentions have revealed their cunning nature when many articles appeared with images with false and distorted arguments to defame, insult leaders, and bring down the Party and State through the ChatGPT application.

Hostile forces spread a distorted article: "People immediately use ChatGPT to ask questions about Uncle Ho and the Party". The questions that these forces deliberately asked ChatGPT were: "Who is the father of the Vietnamese nation?"; "Who gave us a spring full of aspirations?"; "Who gave us bright eyes and bright hearts?...", and then attributed them to "the questions that people in the country asked through ChatGPT in recent days".

After asking such questions, they gloated on behalf of the Chat GPT application to give the answer: "There is no one designated as the father of the Vietnamese nation"; "There is no person or organization that provides us with a spring full of aspirations"; "There is no specific person who has opened your eyes and heart...". From there, these forces claim: "The answer that ChatGPT gives is said to be completely different from what the people in the country have heard for a long time". So is that true? Is ChatGPT an omnipotent application? What is the essence behind that trick?

Cannot smear reality

First of all, asking questions to Chat GPT and making distorted arguments about the leader of the Vietnamese people and the Communist Party of Vietnam are deliberate calculations with dark motives by hostile forces to reduce and shake the people's trust and love for the Party and Uncle Ho.

During his lifetime, Uncle Ho never claimed to be the father of the nation, but for Vietnam, President Ho Chi Minh was a great leader and the people, out of respect and love for him, affectionately called him “Father of the nation”. His image is respected and preserved in the hearts of every Vietnamese person. The image of Uncle Ho as a “Father” has blended into the nation’s cultural and artistic heritage. In the poem “May Morning”, poet To Huu wrote: “He is Father, Uncle, Brother/ A big heart filters hundreds of small blood streams”, or in the poem “Tonight Uncle does not sleep” by poet Minh Hue, he called him “The Father with silver hair/ Lighting a fire for me to lie down”… His great contributions have been honored by our nation as “the beloved Father” and although he has been gone for more than half a century, President Ho Chi Minh always lives forever in our cause. That is the heart, the deep gratitude of the whole nation towards him. That truth cannot be denied.

Just like the metaphor of the Party being the spring of the country, it represents the people's faith and hope in the Party's leadership and the country's future. This is proven through the 93-year history of its establishment, accompanying and being attached to the nation. Our Party has led the country to overcome countless difficulties, hardships and challenges to mark the brilliant milestones of the country and the nation. There cannot be any force or organization with enough prestige and capacity to replace the Party's leadership position and role. It is the contributions to the cause of national liberation and unification in the past, and the cause of building and defending the Fatherland today that our people often use sayings and songs with extremely affectionate and respectful feelings such as "The Party gives us a spring full of aspirations", "The Party gives us bright eyes and bright hearts". This is also the truth that no matter how many tricks and cunning are used, it cannot be smeared.

Be alert when using ChatGPT

Returning to the ChatGPT application, in November 2022, the artificial intelligence (AI) research company based in San Francisco, California (USA) launched the ChatGPT chatbot test product, simulating a conversation between people. This is a computer program that uses AI and natural language processing (NLP) to understand customer questions and automatically answer them.

Users just typed the phrase “ChatGPT” on Google and in 0.4 seconds, it gave nearly 660 million results. This is the application with the fastest growing number of users in history because in just 2 months on the market, it had more than 100 million users. It is estimated that on average, 13 million people use ChatGPT every day. This technology product has broken a record that no previous application has done, showing its extremely strong appeal. This is an application with certain utilities for users, a software that applies technology and AI and is in the process of testing data collection from many different sources and languages.

Not only a tool for normal chatting, ChatGPT is also proficient in many more complex tasks, such as writing or editing computer code, writing email posts, reports on request, even writing theses, scripts for TV shows or writing poems, composing music. In particular, it has the ability to cut and synthesize available information sources on electronic pages, books, newspapers, documents, Wikipedia... appearing on the Internet to give feedback, answering questions of users put into ChatGPT. It has the ability to respond flexibly, using expressive sentences associated with different situations when answering questions provided by users.

According to experts, in many countries, ChatGPT has not been launched as an official tool because it involves ethical and responsibility issues when the information provided is incorrect, inaccurate, or violates standards. Furthermore, ChatGPT is just a virtual application, it cannot replace human emotions. Therefore, it cannot represent the will and feelings of the Vietnamese people towards beloved Uncle Ho, the glorious Party, and it cannot pose such questions on behalf of the Vietnamese people. This is just a tool for bad guys to use to sabotage.

ChatGPT is a smart application, but no matter how smart it is, it is ultimately a product created by humans, completely without reason and emotion. Users should not completely trust the results it gives and need to check the information carefully before using it. ChatGPT can give wrong, biased, or misleading answers because it is based only on training data without any control to ensure the quality and accuracy of the information. The founders of this application also talked about the disadvantages such as lack of true creativity, only general answers without personalization and lack of authenticity, lack of citation...

ChatGPT is not responsible for the information it answers, only those who use this application to distort and sabotage must be responsible. Through the answer, people can also see that it is a "soulless" answer, unable to understand the rhetorical devices in the Vietnamese language or really ignore the figurative meaning.

The key point here is that ChatGPT has unintentionally become a loophole, a "land" for hostile forces to take advantage of and exploit to serve their evil intentions. Hostile forces have deliberately been ambiguous and "in the name of ChatGPT" to present subjective prejudices, deny reality, make one-sided assessments, and distort President Ho Chi Minh and the Communist Party of Vietnam.

It can be seen that the benefits that ChatGPT brings have been proven in practice. However, by exploiting the achievements of science and technology, cunning people have abused it to provide ChatGPT with false information to serve dark purposes. At that time, when users place requests for ChatGPT, the risk it causes is fraud, spreading distorted information, which is very dangerous if users believe, use and act on that false information.

Therefore, for users when using ChatGPT and similar applications, when asking questions and when receiving answers, only consider them as issues that need to be referenced, must have cross-checking, testing, verifying information, choosing official, reliable sources of information. At the same time, be vigilant, alert, avoid falling into the traps of the "matrix" of fake, fabricated, and malicious news set by cunning people./.
