QNgTV- On the evening of October 13, in Hong Kong (China), the World Travel Awards (WTA) for Asia and Oceania 2025 took place. Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark, Tuyen Quang province was awarded the title of "Asia's Leading Regional Cultural Destination 2025".
Dong Van Stone Plateau is located at an average altitude of 1,000-1,600m above sea level, stretching over an area of over 2,354km². According to a survey by scientists from the Institute of Geological Sciences and Mineral Resources, Dong Van Stone Plateau has 11 geological formations, of which Chang Pung is the oldest formation dating back more than 500 million years. This is where geological formations dating back more than 500 million years are preserved, with hundreds of unique geological, paleontological, geomorphological and landscape heritages.
Dong Van Stone Plateau is also a living space for 17 ethnic groups, a place of convergence and cultural exchange across many generations.
Previously, Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark was honored by WTA for two consecutive years with the titles of “Asia's Leading Emerging Tourist Destination 2023” and “Asia's Leading Regional Cultural Destination 2024”.
