Highway on the last day of the year

At many times, the road was deserted. Mr. Nguyen Phuc Hanh (Son Tra ward, Da Nang city) said that he had traveled from the beginning of the route and was quite surprised to see so little traffic. The Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway is nearly 140 km long, passing through Quang Ngai province and Da Nang city, connecting with the Tuy Loan - La Son - Cam Lo expressway, and extending to Quang Tri.

This is a popular route for vehicles traveling through Central Vietnam, especially private cars, because the road is smooth and has few curves.

According to the Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway Operation Center, traffic volume on the expressway begins to increase significantly after the 20th day of the 12th lunar month. Particularly from the 23rd to the 27th day of the 12th lunar month, traffic is heavy in both directions.

"On peak days, there are more than 24,000 vehicles passing through the highway, an increase of over 3,000 vehicles per day compared to last year," he said. From the 28th day of the Lunar New Year, the traffic on this route started to ease. "From Quang Ngai to Da Nang, I encountered very few vehicles; perhaps everyone took advantage of the opportunity to return home for Tet early, so this road is deserted and very comfortable to drive on," said Duc Viet (31 years old, from Quang Tri ).

The Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway is wide and sparsely populated with vehicles in the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year).

On the North-South route, most of the vehicles are cargo trucks, making their last trip of the year.

"A few years ago, I got stuck at this highway exit because of the heavy traffic, so I was quite worried when I started driving. Unexpectedly, this time the road was empty, and I drove smoothly from start to finish. Since this highway opened, I've used it every time I go back to my hometown, no longer taking the national highway because it's time-consuming and the traffic is heavy," shared Mr. Nguyen Hong Nam (from Quang Tri province).

The toll booth was relatively quiet on the last day of the year due to low traffic. Currently, a rest stop has also been set up on this expressway at km 96+100 (Nui Thanh commune, Da Nang city).
