Vinh Hao-Phan Thiet Expressway (passing through Lam Dong province) is implementing the construction of a camera surveillance system and vehicle load control works to limit traffic accidents; expected to be put into operation at the end of December 2025.
On July 16, Project Management Board 7 ( Ministry of Construction ) informed that the unit is deploying a camera system to monitor, control traffic, collect non-stop electronic tolls and control vehicle load in the Vinh Hao-Phan Thiet section investment and construction component project.
It is expected that the traffic monitoring and control system and vehicle load control project will complete its items by the end of August 2025 and be put into operation in December 2025.
Currently, the contractor for the monitoring system package has completed 34/53km; the operator of the Vinh Hao intersection toll station is implementing.
To complete the project in August, the unit is speeding up the construction progress and increasing recruitment. Accordingly, every 2km on the highway, there will be a surveillance camera and a vehicle weight control system installed at the entrances to the highway to ensure traffic safety.
Previously, the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee had just sent a document requesting the Ministry of Construction to pay attention to investing in building continuous emergency lanes on the entire Vinh Hao-Phan Thiet expressway, which is over 100km long. Currently, the route only has emergency stops, each about 5km apart.
In addition, the Ministry of Construction directed the Department of Roads to review and evaluate the traffic safety system, shortcomings and limitations to find timely solutions.
Speeding up the implementation of North-South Expressway projects
In addition, the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee requested the Ministry of Public Security to direct the Traffic Police Department to increase speed checks on vehicles running on the highway, especially at night for sleeper buses , and to check and handle cases of illegal parking.
In addition, the Ministry of Public Security is interested in investing in a camera surveillance system along the entire route to monitor cars and promptly handle incidents that occur on the highway.
