On the morning of January 24, Mr. Le Ba Hung - Chairman of Lao Bao Town People's Committee (Huong Hoa District, Quang Tri Province) - said that the pair of Vietnam - Laos friendship snake mascots in the town park are being decorated.
"This year's mascots represent the friendship between Vietnam and Laos with two symbols of the two countries: That Luong tower representing Laos and One Pillar Pagoda of Vietnam," Mr. Hung informed.
Over the past month, Lao Bao town has organized a border market with the participation of many booths from Vietnam and Laos. Therefore, the town created this pair of mascots to increase solidarity, friendship and trade between the two countries and two localities.
The cost of making this snake mascot is socialized by the town.
The pair of mascots consists of a golden cobra, and a stylized "baby Na" with long eyelashes and a flower on its head. The two mascots are about 2.5m tall, placed opposite each other. Currently, the decoration work continues to be completed and is expected to welcome guests this afternoon (January 24).
