After announcing the severance of diplomatic relations and the expulsion of all Belgian diplomats ten days ago, Rwanda has now continued to impose a strict ban.

The Rwandan government has issued a ban on all non-governmental organizations (NGOs), international and state agencies operating in the East African country from cooperating with the Belgian government and its affiliated entities, Anadolu news agency reported on March 27.
The Rwandan government stated: “With immediate effect, all cooperation, partnerships and engagements with the Belgian government and its affiliated organizations, non-governmental actors, agencies and programmes are prohibited.”
Under the order, any ongoing projects or agreements involving these entities and other similar affiliated entities must be terminated immediately and reported as required.
The Government of Rwanda stressed that the restrictions include budget support, project funding, technical assistance funding and payments made through third-party intermediaries. The statement warned that non-compliance with the restrictions will result in deregistration and/or other administrative measures.
Rwanda cut diplomatic ties with Belgium on March 17, ordering the Western European country's diplomats to leave the East African country within 48 hours. The move came a day after Rwandan President Paul Kagame accused Brussels of supporting international sanctions against Kigali over the conflict in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
At that time, on the X website, Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot wrote: "Belgium regrets Rwanda's decision. This is a disproportionate reaction and shows that when we disagree, they do not want dialogue."
