Dailymail reported that an unexpected accident happened to a 10-year-old boy when he and his family attended an event at the Atlantis Paradise Island resort, Bahamas on January 15.
Accordingly, a source told TMZ that the boy entered the shark tank with a specialist to experience swimming with sharks, one of the quite famous experiences at resorts and hotels.
Boy attacked by shark while swimming in pool
The witness also said that when he dived into the pool, the boy was equipped with a large white helmet and a heavy oxygen tank. However, immediately after entering the pool, two sharks began to aggressively swim around the boy, before one of them jumped over his leg and injured him.
Soon after, the situation became worse when blood from the boy's wound began to spread and gradually turned a corner of the pool red, causing everyone above to panic and worry. Some people said that, as the boy tried to find his way to safety, people also saw sharks circling the pool frantically.
The blood stains spread, making many people extremely scared.
Fortunately, rescue workers were able to quickly bring the boy to shore and take him to the hospital. He was then flown from the hospital to Maryland for further care on January 17.
Blue Adventures of Stuart Cove, the group that runs the resort's shark diving program, said the guest was in the water with a "dive instructor and dive guide" at the time of the incident.
In a statement, the resort representative also said: "We have begun a thorough internal investigation as well as fully cooperated with the authorities to resolve the incident."
The boy was brought ashore by rescuers after the horrific incident.
