Tien Giang Province Retired Cadres Club (old) activities in July 2025

(DTO) On July 29, the Tien Giang Province Retired Cadres Club (formerly) held a regular July meeting. Attending were comrade Pham The Vinh, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee and club members.

At the meeting, in addition to the karaoke performance program of the members, comrade Pham The Vinh, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee, informed the club members about the current two-level government activities and one month of activities of Dong Thap province after the province's merger.

On this occasion, comrade Dang Thanh Liem, Chairman of the club, also reported to the club members about the draft project to merge the Tien Giang Province Retired Cadres Club (old) and the Cao Lanh City Retired Cadres Club (old) into the Dong Thap Province Retired Cadres Club.

After the merger, the new club has more than 1,420 members, divided into two bases: Base 1 in My Tho and Base 2 in Cao Lanh. Comrade Dang Thanh Liem was agreed by both sides to temporarily continue to run the new club until the Congress to elect a new Executive Committee. The temporary Executive Committee has 30 members, of which 5 are Standing members and 3 are members of the Inspection Committee. Affiliated organizations such as the Sports Club; Commune and Ward Liaison Committees, etc. continue to operate at each base.

Although in the transition phase, the Tien Giang Retired Cadres Club (old) still maintains regular activities: News, health care topics, organizing sports competitions such as table tennis, billiards, badminton, yoga... At the same time, members still actively participate in cultural and artistic movements, exchanges, longevity celebrations, returning to the source, visiting sick members...

In the first 6 months of 2025 alone, the Tien Giang Retired Officers Club (old) organized an internal sports tournament with more than 80 members participating, coordinated health check-ups and screenings, introduced member welfare products, and organized traditional educational tours. The Cao Lanh City Retired Officers Club (old) also maintained quarterly activities, organized free health testing programs, revolving savings funds, and small-scale field trips.

One of the key tasks in the coming time is to organize the Congress of the Dong Thap Province Retired Cadres Club to officially approve the Charter, organizational structure and long-term operational orientation. It is expected that the unfinished contents of the year such as developing members, celebrating longevity, consolidating the base, etc. will be implemented synchronously after the Congress takes place.
