U22 Thailand player elbowed, U22 Indonesia defender needed 4 stitches

“ I received an elbow from a Thai player. I was taken to the hospital as soon as I got back to the hotel. I had to get four stitches ,” defender Amiruddin Bagas said about the injury to his lip after the men’s football final at the 32nd SEA Games.

The Indonesian U22 midfielder played with a bandage over his mouth. However, this injury was unrelated to the brawl between Indonesian and Thai players in the final match. Amiruddin Bagas suffered a cut lip from a collision with an opponent during the match.

“ During a physical confrontation, the opposing player used his elbow on me. The injury was not caused by side problems. I still feel pain when I eat. But it should be okay, I will go to the doctor to check again ,” said Bagas.

In the brawl in the final match, the defender wearing the number 2 shirt of U22 Indonesia did not participate. Bagas stood outside and stopped his teammates.
