Overseas Vietnamese player Bui Alex joins U22 Vietnam

On the morning of May 29, rookie Bui Alex officially joined the national U22 team at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).

Accompanying Bui Alex were his father and relatives. They accompanied Alex throughout the journey from the Czech Republic through the UAE to Vietnam.

Sharing with Tuoi Tre Online , Bui Alex said: "Returning to my homeland to try out for the national U22 team is a great honor. I have sacrificed many things for this trip, such as temporarily stopping my studies and missing a few club matches. The team's head coach told me to try my best."

Bui Alex was born in 2005 in Prague, with Vietnamese parents. He is 1m78 tall and is playing for the youth team of Bohemians Praha 1905 in the Czech Third Division 2025. Alex can play well in the positions of midfielder and striker.

"I am confident in my technique. I don't know much about Vietnamese football and Vietnamese players, but I will still try my best for SEA Games 33," Alex said.

Mr. Bui Dung, Bui Alex's father, said he is passionate about football and wants his son to develop his football career, thereby being able to contribute to the Vietnamese national teams in the future.

During the second training session in 2025, U22 Vietnam will practice for 1 week from May 30 to June 6, at the same time and location as the national team on FIFA Days.

This training session is part of the preparation plan for important tournaments this year including the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship, the 2026 Asian U23 Qualifiers and the 33rd SEA Games. Vietnam U22 will have an internal match with the national team during this training session.

Due to busy work with the national team, coach Kim Sang Sik and VFF agreed to assign coach Dinh Hong Vinh to take charge of the U22 Vietnam team during this training session.

The list of U22 Vietnam this time has 26 players, but only 25 players have come to the training camp. The only absent player is striker Nguyen Thanh Nhan (PVF-CAND), due to an injury in the most recent match in the National First Division.
