" Hanoi Police Club would like to deeply apologize to the fans for the unfortunate incident in the first leg of the Southeast Asian Cup C1 final against Buriram United tonight," the Hanoi Police Club's homepage announced as well as apologized for the incident in which many fans could not enter Hang Day Stadium to watch their team play despite having purchased tickets in advance.

Before the match started at 7:30 p.m., hundreds of fans, despite having tickets, were still unable to enter the stadium, helpless as the gates of Hang Day Stadium were closed.
"Due to security reasons and the appearance of fake tickets, the Organizing Committee was forced to close the stadium gate to ensure absolute safety for spectators and players.
We understand that not being able to attend such a big match is extremely regrettable and disappointing.
We would like to sincerely apologize to every spectator who was unable to enter the stadium, even though they were present and ready to accompany the team.
The organizers will refund the money to the audience who still have tickets and have transfer information," the Hanoi Police Club explained the reason for the closure and affirmed that it will refund the fans who bought tickets but could not enter the stadium.

Hang Day Stadium has a capacity of about 22,500 seats and is currently the home ground of Hanoi Police Club and Hanoi FC. Due to the increasingly degraded stadium, the Organizing Committee has had to limit the number of spectators entering the stadium. Some stands were not allowed to be used, so only 13,890 spectators were allowed to enter the stadium to watch the first leg of the final between Hanoi Police Club and Buriram.
Notably, despite playing at home with enthusiastic cheers from the audience, Hanoi Police Club, despite leading twice, was still held to a 2-2 draw by Buriram. This was an unfavorable result for the Vietnamese representative, as they had to play the second leg of the final in Thailand on May 21.
