The results of 3 subjects in block D01 with 27.5 points (Math 9, Literature 9.5 and Foreign Language 9) were not too surprising for Kim Ngan. Because after finishing the exam, she had evaluated her own score and was confident that she would get over 27 points. However, being the top student in block D01 in the whole province made Kim Ngan extremely surprised and happy.
Kim Ngan shared: “I myself am not an outstanding student, my English 12 class has many excellent friends and it is the healthy competitive environment that motivates me to strive. This year's exam was quite difficult, with a very high level of differentiation, and the exam followed a new structure, so I did not dare think that I would be valedictorian. This result is truly a great gift for me to be able to express my gratitude to my parents, teachers, and friends - those who have energized, motivated, and wholeheartedly imparted knowledge to me over the years."
Although modest, to achieve this result, Kim Ngan had to make a long effort during 12 years at school, especially during 3 years of high school at Ha Tinh Specialized High School.
Kim Ngan is the youngest daughter in a family with parents who are both civil servants and are often busy with work, so she always has a sense of independence and self-study. Every day, in addition to studying in class, Ngan searches for test sets online and review books to practice her knowledge; she also approaches many different types of questions to improve her thinking. For English, Ngan diligently searches for listening exercises, movies, songs, and books to both improve her listening and speaking skills and supplement her vocabulary. In particular, during her studies, Ngan always receives enthusiastic guidance and instruction from teachers and encouragement from her parents. That is also a great motivation for her to try hard every day.
Thanks to that, during her studies, Ngan always achieved the title of excellent student with an average academic result of 9.5-9.8 points; won second prize in the provincial English competition for grades 11 and 12; in grade 11, she scored 7.5 points on the IELTS test; at the beginning of grade 12, she scored 1,500/1,600 on the SAT test...
Not only having excellent academic results, Kim Ngan is worthy of being the female leader of the 12th English 1 group with the role of the head and core of a series of extracurricular and volunteer activities organized by the school and branch. Kim Ngan used to be a member of the Executive Committee of the School Union; Head of Finance - External Affairs of the Elab English Club; Head of Finance - External Affairs of the Mercury internal magazine club...
In particular, I am the co-founder of the volunteer project "Toa". The project takes place for 1 year (from April 2023 to April 2024) sponsored by the former Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (now the Department of Home Affairs). With the achievement of being the valedictorian of block D01, Kim Ngan is getting closer to her goal of becoming a new student at Foreign Trade University. Ngan confided: “I really love the field of economics , I hope I can study well so that I can contribute real values to the organization and the community in the future. In addition to this exam score, before that, through other methods such as application review, I also set my wishes to enter Foreign Trade University and National Economics University. With this result, I am more confident to continue writing my dream”.
Ms. Tran Thi Thu Thuy - Kim Ngan's mother shared: "Parents cannot help their child much, but they are always their spiritual support and friend. When Kim Ngan achieved the top result in block D01, everyone in the family was happy. I am proud of her but also remind her that this is only the initial result. The road ahead is still long, I hope she continues to be confident, trying to fulfill her dreams and goals."
