In Phình Hồ commune, Sung A Tua, a Hmong official, has become an inspiration for the digital transformation story in the highlands. Understanding the hardships of the local people who produce agricultural products without knowing who to sell them to, he boldly committed: "Everyone can raise livestock and grow crops, and I will buy their products."
Not content with just buying and selling, Tủa recognized the power of technology and built his own social media channels under the simple name "A Tủa - the commune official".

Videos documenting daily work, nighttime propaganda sessions, and authentic mountain scenery touched the hearts of viewers. This inspired him to establish the Phinh Ho Shan Snow Tea Cooperative, bringing the ancient tea products of his hometown to e-commerce platforms. In just two years, the Phinh Ho tea brand not only became famous domestically but also conquered demanding markets such as the United States, Japan, and South Korea.
"I always use my real name, real image, and real work. International clients highly appreciate that honesty and transparency," Tủa shared.
Similarly, the story of Ms. Dong Thi Hien - Director of the Northwest Agricultural Production and Processing Cooperative (Yen Binh commune) - is another testament to the dynamism and determination of farmers in the digital age.
Instead of relying on traditional sales channels, Ms. Hien switched to daily livestreaming and producing short videos to introduce her products. The cooperative not only invested in processing machinery to improve product quality but also focused on equipping itself with modern equipment to facilitate sales on digital platforms.

Thanks to this, in addition to stores on Shopee, Tiki, and Lazada, the cooperative has built TikTok and Facebook pages with high interaction rates, helping its products reach a wider audience and generate orders, leading to stable growth for the cooperative.
Sharing her plans for the future, Ms. Dong Thi Hien said: "The initial success is the motivation for the cooperative to further expand this superior sales method. We don't want to keep this secret to ourselves."
The cooperative plans to collaborate with other cooperatives in the area, especially those run by women, to organize joint livestreaming sessions; jointly developing scripts, sharing experiences, and cross-promoting each other's products. Additionally, we want to connect with young people and local TikTokers to spread the story of clean agricultural products from Lao Cai , creating a strong digital sales community for the entire province.
The success of individuals like Mr. Tua and Ms. Hien is not due to their individual efforts but also stems from the province's policies and strategies. Lao Cai province has identified digital transformation as a key task, demonstrated through the issuance of specific action plans, the promotion of solutions related to digital government, digital economy, digital society, digital infrastructure development, and the integration of technology platforms.

In the first nine months of 2025, through the Canadian-funded SPRINT Project, Lao Cai province organized 34 training courses on livestreaming and selling on digital platforms for 1,400 participants, mainly members of cooperatives.
The Lao Cai Provincial Cooperative Union also plays a crucial role in promoting this "wave." Mr. Nguyen Duc Lam, Vice Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial Cooperative Union, stated: "We consider supporting cooperatives in digital transformation a key task. The Union not only organizes training courses on livestreaming and online marketing skills but also connects and facilitates cooperatives in bringing their products, especially the province's 605 OCOP products, to e-commerce platforms. Selling through livestreaming helps cooperatives transparently streamline their production processes, build trust with consumers, and directly enhance the brand value of local agricultural products."
It can be affirmed that livestreaming is no longer a fleeting trend but has truly become a mainstream trend – an effective solution to elevate the status of Lao Cai's agricultural products. This format helps cooperatives expand their markets and directly reach consumers without intermediaries.

Customers can "see the product firsthand," building greater trust. More importantly, this sales method helps reduce marketing and sales costs and promotes digital transformation within each cooperative. As a result, many cooperatives have seen their revenue increase by 20-50% when regularly using livestreaming.
The story of the 4.0 farmers in Lao Cai continues to be written every day. With confidence, creativity, and the support of the government, they not only master their land, crops, and livestock but are also mastering technology, confidently bringing the unique agricultural products of this highland, border region to a wider market.
