The Department of Agriculture and Environment of Can Tho City has coordinated with city departments, local authorities, and relevant units to promote and support farmers, cooperatives, and businesses in promoting and selling agricultural products on e-commerce platforms and digital platforms. Emphasis has been placed on mobilizing resources to build databases, develop and implement digital platforms, and strengthen linkages and connections between relevant parties. Regular training sessions, workshops, and seminars on digital transformation are organized, creating opportunities for farmers to access, utilize, and effectively use new equipment and technologies in agriculture. Specifically, this includes the use of agricultural drones, the application of automatic irrigation systems for crops, and the exploitation and use of e-commerce platforms and digital platforms to promote and sell products.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Can Tho City, the city's agricultural sector has guided and supported 119 units in promoting and introducing 173 products on the "chonongsancantho.vn" information portal. It has issued electronic traceability codes (QR-Codes) to 321 agricultural, forestry, and fisheries producers and businesses, covering 621 products. It has also implemented guidance for people to apply digital platforms and applications for managing growing areas, electronic logging, and pest management, such as VNPT Green, Mobi Agri, Ricemore, FaceFarm, etc. Furthermore, it has broadcast agricultural weather forecasts, reaching over 309,730 people through Zalo groups, loudspeakers, and posters.
