Termination of Japanese Garden Project at Tuyen Lam Lake

(LĐ online) - The People's Committee of Lam Dong province has just decided to agree in principle to terminate the Japanese Garden Project invested by Lam Dong Tourism Joint Stock Company at Tuyen Lam Lake National Tourist Area, Da Lat.

Tuyen Lam Lake National Tourist Area is identified as the key tourism development center of Da Lat City - Lam Dong.

The above decision was made after the Department of Finance reported the inspection results and proposed to terminate the project. The reason for the termination of the project is that Lam Dong Tourism Joint Stock Company did not complete the investment preparation procedures, did not implement the project's operational objectives as prescribed, and violated Clause 10, Article 2 of the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the laws on planning, investment, investment under the public-private partnership method and bidding in 2024.

The Japanese Garden Project was previously approved for investment by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 1727/QD-UBND dated August 13, 2015. However, after many years, the project has not been implemented on schedule and according to the committed goals.

The Provincial People's Committee has assigned the Department of Finance to carry out procedures to terminate the project and handle the enterprise's deposit in accordance with legal regulations. At the same time, coordinate with relevant departments and localities to review the management and use of equitized assets at the project location and propose appropriate solutions to avoid budget losses. The Tax Department of Region XIII was also requested to review and determine the financial obligations of the enterprise and urge budget collection if any arise.

The Provincial People's Committee requested the Da Lat City People's Committee to direct the strengthening of management of construction order, land and business activities in the area after the project ceases operation. The Tuyen Lam Lake National Tourism Area Management Board also needs to closely coordinate in monitoring and managing the area, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.

On the business side, Lam Dong Tourism Joint Stock Company is responsible for complying with the termination of investment activities, proactively resolving arising issues, self-liquidating the project and completing related financial obligations according to regulations.
