Memories of water hyacinth

(CLO) There have been many poems written about water hyacinth - a common flower on the rivers in the Mekong Delta (in the North it is called "Western water fern"). The water fern stalks are on average half a meter high. People living along the rivers often cut the water fern stalks, dry them, and weave them into baskets to hold goods as a kind of handicraft, which is popular because it is light and affordable for buyers.
