Inevitable livestock farming trend
According to the Tay Ninh Provincial Planning Project for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, Tay Ninh province sets the goal of "green growth", developing agriculture towards value chains, quality, efficiency, meeting international standards to expand the market, improve efficiency and profits through promoting the application of advanced technology, mechanization, automation, computerization, digitalization and circular economy .
Recently, linking safe animal husbandry has become a trend, encouraged by local authorities and professional agencies, and supported by people because of its sustainability, efficiency, and safety.
QL Farm Co., Ltd. (Thanh Binh Commune, Tan Bien District) has a scale of raising more than 1 million egg-laying hens for export. To prevent and control diseases in the chicken flock, the company has used closed farm techniques with the advantages of bio-safety, environmental control and UV sterilization. Chickens are raised in clean, modern barns, with temperature and humidity controlled by a modern computer system.
The company also equips a high-tech ventilation fan system, providing fresh, cool air for the barns; the quality control process is strictly implemented from barn cleaning, vaccination, chicken care to egg sorting using an automatic sorting system, sterilization with UV rays. Workers entering and exiting the company will have a disinfection gate outside and inside the farm.
Ba Nguyen Two-Member LLC has livestock farms located in Chau Thanh district. Determining that developing livestock farming in the direction of biosafety, applying scientific and technical advances in production, livestock farming and having connections will have less risks than raising livestock in the form of households and small-scale farms, the Company has strictly implemented biosafety livestock farming measures; closely monitored vehicles and visitors entering and leaving the farm, and implemented good isolation and labor protection before entering and leaving the farm.
Ms. Tran Thi Hanh - Deputy Director of Ba Nguyen Two-Member Co., Ltd. said that when importing breeding chickens, the company chooses chickens with clear origins, vaccinated from parent chickens. The company proactively carries out disinfection and sterilization work in and around the farm, means of transport in and out of the farm, especially in places with high risk of infection. When the chickens reach the age of being sold, the company will buy all of them, so there is no need to worry about output or market prices...

Efforts to build disease-free zones
In addition to large-scale biosafety livestock farming, the construction of a safe and clean zone is one of the important solutions to proactively prevent and control epidemics. Especially, when we deeply integrate into the world economy with new generation free trade agreements (FTAs), Vietnam in general and Tay Ninh in particular want to participate in the global livestock product supply chain, we must be open and transparent about the livestock production chain from breeding, feed, disease prevention, preliminary processing, processing, etc.
Therefore, promoting the construction of food safety livestock farming areas and chains not only serves the prevention of livestock diseases but also ensures the supply of livestock products for the domestic market and promotes exports.
Currently, in the province, Duong Minh Chau district and 6 commune-level facilities in Go Dau district have been certified for food safety against avian influenza and Newcastle disease in chickens; 71 other livestock facilities have been granted food safety certificates.
In the period of 2024-2025, Tay Ninh strives to have 3 more district-level areas (Tan Chau, Tan Bien, Go Dau) that meet the food safety standards according to Vietnam's regulations. On May 19, Tay Ninh announced the food safety standards in Tan Chau district. This is an important event for the development of high-tech agriculture in particular and the agricultural sector in general of Tay Ninh province, as well as marking the province's efforts in cooperation with investors.
Speaking at a press conference about the plan to organize the ceremony to announce the SafeDB zone in Tan Chau district, Mr. Tran Van Chien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said: The SafeDB zone in Tan Chau is a chain to ensure safeDB livestock farming, is the core for livestock development in the province and is one of the province's 3 breakthroughs in the agricultural sector. Currently, the value of the province's agricultural sector accounts for 19% of GRDP; the livestock sector alone accounts for 23% of the value of the agricultural sector. Developing high-tech livestock farming in the SafeDB zone will be the foundation for agricultural development.
The Provincial Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine checks disease safety at livestock farms.
In the period of 2026-2030, in addition to maintaining areas that have achieved food safety, Tay Ninh continues to strive to have 5 district-level areas (Tay Ninh city, Hoa Thanh town, Trang Bang town, Ben Cau district, Chau Thanh district) achieving food safety according to Vietnam's regulations, 2 district-level areas (Tan Bien, Tan Chau) achieving food safety according to the regulations of the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) for avian influenza and Newcastle disease.
Mr. Nguyen Van Long - Director of the Department of Animal Health said: According to OIE regulations, when exporting animal products, livestock farms are required to comply with regulations and criteria on food safety zones. "If we want to export, we must comply with these regulations" - Mr. Long emphasized.
It can be seen that the construction of the ATDB area is of great significance in developing livestock, increasing product value, providing safe products for domestic consumption and export. This is a favorable condition for businesses operating in the field of animal production and processing of animal products to feel secure in production and business; it is also a place that businesses prioritize for investment. Thereby, the province will attract many investors in this field, especially investors applying high technology, having chain linkages and aiming for export, contributing to the restructuring of livestock in the province and opening up a direction for sustainable livestock development, soon completing the province's agricultural development goals by 2030.
