Meeting to celebrate the 23rd anniversary of the establishment of the Provincial Resistance Prisoners Association

Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Thi Sinh - President of the Provincial Association of Designers emphasized: "Promoting the spirit of the great victory of the spring of 1975, throughout the process of construction and development, the Tay Ninh Provincial Association of Designers has always accompanied and contributed to the innovation of the Party, the nation and the country".

In 2002, the Liaison Committee of Prisoners of War and Political Prisoners of Resistance in Tay Ninh Province was established, and in 2006 it was officially renamed the Provincial Association of War and Political Prisoners of Resistance. The Provincial Association of War and Political Prisoners of Resistance includes a provincial association, 9 district, town and city associations and 72 commune-level branches.

Over the past 23 years, the Association has performed its functions and tasks of gathering and uniting members, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of members; supporting each other to operate effectively, contributing to the socio -economic development of the country.

Since its establishment, the Association has gathered 1,029 members. By June 2025, there were 555 members (339 active members, 216 exempted from activities, and 140 party members). Of these, 123 members were prisoners at Phu Quoc prison, 66 at Con Dao, and 366 at other prisons.

In the past time, the Association has organized many activities to care for its members. With the attention of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee has supported the provincial association with 44 trips to visit Uncle Ho's Mausoleum and Phu Quoc and Con Dao prisons for 1,485 members with a total cost of more than 7 billion VND; the district-level Association and its branches have also organized 350 tours for more than 4,400 members with a total cost of more than 1.5 billion VND. Currently, hundreds of members enjoy policies and monthly allowances and participate in the Veterans Association.

Party committees and authorities at all levels and benefactors have given more than 7,500 Tet gifts to members in difficult circumstances with a budget of 1.8 billion VND.

Implementing Decision No. 577-QD/TU dated April 15, 2021 of the Standing Committee of Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee stipulating a number of policies on the protection and care of cadres, in which, resistance fighters who were captured and imprisoned by the enemy were granted treatment cards at the Internal Medicine Department A - Tay Ninh General Hospital. Thereby, the Association at all levels proposed to issue cards to 410 members. Up to now, 100% of policy beneficiaries have treatment cards at the Internal Medicine Department A.

The provincial association coordinated with the Red Cross and the Tam Duc Saigon Hospital Testing Center to provide free medical examinations and medicine to 184 members. The association at all levels consulted and proposed to the Party Committee, government, and benefactors to support more than 3 billion VND in funding to build 69 gratitude houses, 24 charity houses, and repair 17 houses for members facing housing difficulties.

The provincial association also coordinated with relevant agencies to request 18 wheelchairs for members and organized eye surgeries for 12 members. NTKC Association members also actively contributed more than 120 million VND to the fight against Covid-19 and natural disasters.

From 2017 to present, the provincial association has coordinated with association bases to prepare dossiers requesting monthly allowances for 98 people; currently, 139 dossiers have been declared and are waiting for a response.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Sinh - President of the Provincial Association of Designers and Crafts presented gifts to members.

At the meeting, representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, the Provincial Labor Federation and the Provincial Association presented gifts to 84 delegates of the Association of Creative Artists.
