On the evening of August 22, Mr. Nguyen Huu Thanh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghia Loi Commune (Nghia Dan District, Nghe An ) said that he had discussed with the commune police to coordinate with relevant agencies to clarify the case of a child suspected of being abused by relatives.
According to initial information, on August 20, Nghe An Northwestern General Hospital received a child patient, L.D.H. (5 years old, permanent residence in Nghia Loi commune) with ulcers on his thighs, buttocks and tailbone. During the treatment and care process, doctors discovered that he interacted with people happily and normally but refused to communicate with his grandmother and father.
Initial investigation revealed that after her parents separated, H. lived with her mother and grandmother in Nghia Loi commune. When her mother remarried, she returned to live with her father and grandparents in Nghia Lam commune. About 6 months ago, she had an accident and was taken to the hospital by her grandmother and father for treatment.
However, after returning home, the child's condition did not improve and he could not walk, so his family set up a tent near the house for him to live in. When discovering H.'s condition and illness, the Nghia Lam commune authorities asked the family to take him for treatment.
