According to initial information, at more than 12 o'clock on April 17, people discovered a fire breaking out from a grass field on an empty land of thousands of square meters near Huynh Thi Na Street (in Hamlet 2, Dong Thanh Commune, Hoc Mon District, Ho Chi Minh City) and called the fire department. This land has tall grass, combined with hot weather, causing the fire to spread quickly, approaching houses and two production facilities.
Burning grass and trash spreads, threatening houses, plastic factories and iron factories in Hoc Mon District.
Upon receiving the news, the functional forces of Dong Thanh Commune People's Committee and the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Hoc Mon District Police dispatched vehicles and dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene to participate in fire fighting.
The authorities split into many directions and were able to extinguish the fire when it reached the brick walls of the plastic factory and the iron factory.
Authorities arrived in time to protect the two factories.
The fire burned thousands of square meters of lawn in the vacant lot. The cause of the fire was due to people carelessly burning grass and trash.
Currently, the weather in Ho Chi Minh City is hot and sunny, the risk of fire is very high, so people are careful in fire prevention.
Previously, on February 25, a fire broke out in a vacant lot on Pham Thi Giay Street (Tam Dong 2 Hamlet, Thoi Tam Thon Commune, Hoc Mon District, Ho Chi Minh City) and spread to houses in alleys 301 - 302 of this street, causing property damage and chaos in the residential area.
