By 5:30 p.m. this afternoon (August 22), the Fire Police force of Binh Duong province had basically controlled the fire that occurred near National Highway 13 (section belonging to Hiep Thanh ward, Thu Dau Mot city), preventing the fire from spreading to residential areas.
According to initial information, at around 4:20 p.m. the same day, a fire suddenly broke out from an outdoor scrap yard located next to Highway 13. Just a few minutes later, the fire flared up fiercely, black smoke engulfing the entire area.
Although it was raining at the time of the fire, the fire continued to grow.
The fire happened during rush hour, causing serious traffic congestion, with long lines of vehicles.
The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, Binh Duong Provincial Police then mobilized 8 fire trucks and more than 40 officers and soldiers to the scene to put out the fire. Other forces also coordinated to regulate and direct traffic.
According to a quick report from the authorities, the fire area was about 150 square meters, inside there were many flammable materials such as foam, scrap, paper... so the fire spread quickly.
Although the fire was extinguished, many properties in the area were burned down, fortunately there were no casualties.
