Chelsea prepares to sell 23 players

Chelsea's squad will have big changes in the summer of 2025.

Since Todd Boehly took over at Chelsea in 2022, the club has been in the transfer market with a flurry of player sales. Last summer, Chelsea signed 11 players and had 25 players leave Stamford Bridge. However, this year's transfer window could be even hotter, with a major sell-off expected.

According to British media, Chelsea could sell up to 23 players this summer, raising 500 million euros (427 million pounds). Some notable names that could leave include Wesley Fofana, Mykhailo Mudryk, Marc Guiu, Noni Madueke and goalkeeper Robert Sanchez. Players who joined in the summer of 2023 such as David Datro Fofana and Christopher Nkunku could also be sold.

In addition, some players currently on loan at other clubs such as Ben Chilwell, Axel Disasi, Joao Felix, Raheem Sterling and Armando Broja could also be sold to help Chelsea restructure the squad. Chelsea's aim is to use the proceeds from this liquidation to invest in the squad, upgrade the team and prepare for a challenging new season.

Currently, under the guidance of coach Enzo Maresca, Chelsea is ranked 6th in the Premier League and is only 1 point behind Manchester City in the race for a ticket to the Champions League next season. Besides, Maresca's team is also a strong candidate for the UEFA Conference League championship.
