Worth more than 800,000 USD (equivalent to more than 20 billion VND), this mobile home in the overlanding RV line is surprising the global travel community with its comfort, survival ability, and design that is no different from a 5-star hotel on wheels. Essentially, this expensive RV is built from the chassis of a heavy military truck, such as MAN or Unimog, which are known for their ability to conquer all types of terrain from deserts, jungles to snow.
The body uses heat-insulating composite materials, lightweight triple-pane bulletproof windows, and a pneumatic suspension system that can be raised or lowered depending on the terrain. The car can wade deep water, climb steep slopes, and survive in harsh conditions down to -40°C.
Inside is a completely self-sufficient living space, where everything is optimized: king-size bed, leather sofa, induction cooker, oven, large refrigerator, washing machine, private bathroom, drinking water filtration system, air conditioning, satellite Internet, Hi-Fi sound system.
A clean water tank of up to 500 liters, a grey water treatment system and composting allow the vehicle to operate independently for up to 2–3 weeks without resupply. The RV uses a high-power solar power system (up to 1200W), comes with a high-capacity lithium-ion battery pack and a powerful inverter, allowing high-power consumption devices such as air conditioners, electric stoves, and microwaves to run without needing to plug in an external power source. In some high-end versions, you even get... automatic coffee makers, wall-mounted TVs and smart massage chairs, which even high-end city apartments may not have. The “Overlanding” movement, which means living and traveling for long periods of time in a specialized vehicle, is growing strongly in the US, especially after the pandemic. It allows people to escape the stuffy urban areas, live close to nature, and at the same time maintain the amenities of a resort.
For young people who love to explore or retired couples who love freedom, an overlanding RV worth tens of billions is no longer a luxury, but an investment for an unlimited life experience. A mobile home costing over 20 billion VND is certainly not for the majority. But for those who dare to live differently, dare to set foot in places no one has ever been, this is the “ideal home” where every morning waking up is a new horizon.
