Siu Puong waterfall hangs halfway up a high mountain.

From the center of Dak Na commune (Tu Mo Rong district, Kon Tum province), passing through terraced fields, winding stone streams, winding roads between vast pine forests and lush green lawns, visitors will hear the sound of rushing water.

That is the sound of water pouring from the majestic Siu Puong waterfall, located between the Ngoc Kal and Ngoc Pang mountain ranges, about 89km from Kon Tum city.

Located at an altitude of 1,600m above sea level, Siu Puong waterfall is one of the highest waterfalls in Vietnam. The water of Siu Puong waterfall originates from the top of Ngoc Linh mountain.

The waterfall is about 240m long but does not pour down from the top like many other waterfalls in the Central Highlands. Instead, Siu Puong waterfall flows into 7 levels in a unique zigzag shape.

The highest level of the waterfall is at the top, 60m high. The next 4 levels are each about 40m high, the remaining 2 shorter levels are about 10m high.

Depending on the amount of water flowing, the waterfall surface has different widths and narrows each season of the year. During the rainy season, when the water is abundant, the waterfall can be up to 30m wide.

From afar, the waterfall looks like a soft, winding white silk strip standing out among the lush green of the mountains and forests.
