Film screening and exhibition celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day

NDO - According to information from the Vietnam Film Institute, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 1975), the Institute coordinated with the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City and related units to organize a photo exhibition and screening of some typical films of Vietnamese cinema in Ho Chi Minh City.

The film screening program produced by the Vietnam Film Institute brings to the city's audience feature films and documentaries such as "The Wild Field", "The Road to the Front", "Some Images of the Liberation of Saigon", "Saigon Joyful Victory"...

In addition, the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City also organized a community screening of the feature film "Wild Field", the documentary "City at Dawn" and an exchange with the film crew "Tunnels".

At Nguyen Hue Walking Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City:

April 27 (7:30 p.m. - 9 p.m.): Community screening of the feature film "The Wild Field".

April 28 (7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.): Exchange with the "Tunnel" film crew and community screening of the documentary "City at Dawn".

At Ho Chi Minh City General Science Library, 69 Ly Tu Trong, Ben Thanh Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City:

From April 24-29 (9:00-11:00 and 15:00-17:00): Screening of the documentary film "The Way Forward".

From May 5-8 (9:00-11:00 and 15:00-17:00): Screening of Documentary films "Some images of the Liberation of Saigon", "Saigon rejoices in victory".

The exhibition “Echoes of the Great Victory of Spring 1975 in Cinema” opened on the evening of April 26 at Nguyen Hue walking street, District 1, displaying about 300 photos, photo collections stored at the Vietnam Film Institute and photos collected from related film production units and film studios.

The exhibition includes two contents: "Cinema with historical moments" and "Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City through the perspective of cinema".

The photos are selected from documentaries, feature films, and documents about the 1975 Spring General Offensive and Uprising, the peak of the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign. These are images of film artists working on the southern battlefield during the resistance war against the US to save the country, images of the simple beauty and vibrant, integrated life of Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City today.
