On the afternoon of August 2, Truong Tuoi Dong Nai Club (formerly Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc ) sent a dispatch to Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) to announce that it will not participate in V-League 2025-2026 as a special ticket.

VPF sent a dispatch to Truong Tuoi Dong Nai Club on August 1 to get their opinion on whether to agree to participate in V-League 2025-2026 or not after Quang Nam Club withdrew from the tournament.

The Dong Nai School of Youth Club said that after a meeting, careful and comprehensive consideration, the team regretfully announced that they would not be attending. The letter read:

"We understand that this is a valuable opportunity to be present at the highest level of Vietnamese football, so this decision is extremely difficult for the club.

However, with a long-term vision, we are clear that the development of the Club must be based on a solid foundation, with the fans and fan community at the center and core driving force.

This is not only the guiding principle for all activities of the Club, but also the strategic goal in the journey to build a professional, unique and sustainable football team.

We hope that, when present in V-League in the future, Truong Tuoi Dong Nai Club will be a truly ready team, not only competitive enough but also brave enough to dedicate to fans eye-catching matches and beautiful images...".

Previously, the VFF Executive Committee agreed to choose a team competing in the 2024-2025 First Division to supplement the 2025-2026 V-League, instead of choosing Quy Nhon Binh Dinh Club (the team that just finished last in the 2024-2025 V-League and was relegated).

Truong Tuoi Dong Nai Club will be the first team to be prioritized because it is the runner-up of the 2024-2025 First Division. If the Southeast team does not accept being promoted to the highest tournament, VPF will approach PVF-CAND Club, the team ranked 3rd in the First Division last season.

Preparing for the new season, Cong Phuong's team has brought in 22 new names for both the coaching bench and the players, in order to continue achieving the goal of promotion.

Notable are head coach Nguyen Viet Thang and star players such as Minh Vuong (Hoang Anh Gia Lai), Xuan Truong (Hong Linh Ha Tinh), Tran Quang Thinh (Nam Dinh), Thanh Thao (HCMC), Ho Thanh Minh (PVF-CAND), Cao Tran Hoang Hung, Duong Van Khoa (Binh Dinh)...

Truong Tuoi Dong Nai Club won the runner-up position of the 2024-2025 First Division and a place in the play-off match for the right to be promoted to the 2025-2026 V-League.

However, coach Huynh Quoc Anh's team lost 0-2 to SHB Da Nang Club in the play-off match at Thong Nhat Stadium at the end of June.
