
Athlete Nguyen Khanh Ly won first place in the women's 21km race.
At Quan Ngua Sports Palace, the Standard Chartered Marathon Heritage Hanoi 2025 concluded two days of official competition with the participation of more than 15,000 athletes.
The 5km and 2.1km distances for children are held on November 8, with the 42km, 21km and 10km distances taking place on November 9, completing the largest-ever season.
The 2025 season saw a sharp increase in the number of international athletes, with 2,500 coming from nearly 70 countries, nearly double that of 2024. This impressive growth continues to affirm the appeal of the marathon with the largest number of international athletes in Vietnam, while demonstrating the opportunity for the domestic marathon movement to reach the regional level.

More than 15,000 domestic and international athletes competed in the race.
With the message “Breakthrough, reach further - Together, we run further”, the race is accompanied by Standard Chartered Bank as the main sponsor. The prize system has a total value of more than 1 billion VND along with many gifts from sponsors, showing gratitude to the athlete community.
This year’s season saw fierce competition between domestic and international athletes in four distances: marathon (42km), half marathon (21km), 10km and 5km. This was also an opportunity for Vietnamese athletes to compete with the world’s top runners, gain experience and improve their performance.
Speaking at the Award Ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Hanh, General Director and Head of Corporate and Investment Banking, Standard Chartered Bank Vietnam, shared: "We are delighted that the race has become an iconic international event in Vietnam and attracted tens of thousands of athletes from the country and around the world, encouraging and motivating the community to maintain a healthy lifestyle."

The Organizing Committee awarded the 42km men's race.
Representative of the Organizing Committee, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Tri, General Director of DHA Vietnam emphasized the coordinated efforts of many agencies to build a safe, experiential running route, associated with the heritage values of the Capital.
This year's race also saw the participation of businesses in sideline exhibition activities, creating a vibrant sporting atmosphere throughout the three-day event.
Final results
5km distance: 1st female - Bang Thach Long Trinh (0:20:19); 1st male - Ly Hoang Thai (0:16:34).
10km distance: 1st female - Ly Ngoc Ha (00:38:14); 1st male - Nguyen Hoang Thinh (00:32:59).
21km distance: 1st female - Nguyen Khanh Ly (01:27:25); 1st male - Duong Minh Hung (01:09:19).
42km distance: 1st female - Lema Alemitu Ajema (02:40:26); 1st male - Duber Abdisa Teshome (02:21:56).
In the 42km distance, four Vietnamese athletes including Huynh Anh Khoi, Nguyen Van Lai, Pham Thi Hong Le and Doan Thi Oanh were in the Top 5 leading athletes.
In the 21km distance, many Vietnamese athletes such as Hoang Viet Vy Ly, Trinh Quoc Luong, Tran Duyen and Bang Thach Long Trinh also entered the Top 5, marking a successful season for domestic runners.
