The Government provides emergency support of 250 billion VND to help Son La, Dien Bien and Nghe An overcome the consequences of floods.

To overcome the consequences caused by floods, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc has just signed Decision No. 1653/QD-TTg dated August 2, 2025 of the Prime Minister to provide emergency support of VND 250 billion from the central budget reserve in 2025 for Son La, Dien Bien and Nghe An provinces. Of which, support for Nghe An is VND 100 billion.

In addition to Nghe An, the remaining two provinces, Dien Bien, received VND100 billion and Son La VND50 billion. This is the initial support for localities to overcome damage and stabilize people's lives soon after natural disasters.

The People's Committees of the provinces are assigned to be responsible for managing and using the above-mentioned additional funds, ensuring compliance with regulations, correct purposes, correct subjects, publicity, transparency, and avoiding loss or negativity.

In addition to the central budget support, localities are required to mobilize additional local budgets and other legal sources to promptly support people to stabilize their lives immediately after the floods; at the same time, report the results of use to the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and relevant agencies for synthesis and reporting to the Prime Minister.

Previously, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed and issued Official Dispatch No. 919/TTg-NN on focusing on overcoming the consequences of floods, flash floods, and landslides in Dien Bien, Son La, and Nghe An provinces.

The Prime Minister requested the Provincial Party Secretary and the Chairman of the People's Committee of the three provinces to be directly responsible for directing and coordinating with the Ministries of National Defense, Public Security, Agriculture and Environment, Construction, Industry and Trade, Science and Technology, Health, Education and Training, Culture, Sports and Tourism, etc. to focus on overcoming the consequences caused by flash floods, landslides, and landslides as quickly as possible with the most urgent and drastic spirit.

Updated as of August 2, the total damage caused by storm No. 3 in Nghe An province is estimated at VND3,635 billion. Of which, the largest damage is to the housing and property sector with about VND1,545 billion. Transport infrastructure is also seriously affected, with estimated damage of about VND1,390 billion.

Nghe An has allocated 317 billion VND, of which 205 billion VND is from the provincial budget reserve and 112 billion VND is from the Relief Fund through the account of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province to support communes affected by storm No. 3.
