Officially started construction of Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh expressway component project

BPO - Along with the groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies of key projects across the country, this morning, April 19, in Dong Xoai city, the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc province solemnly held the groundbreaking ceremony of component project 3 "Investment in construction of service roads and overpasses across the section through Binh Phuoc province" and component project 5 "Compensation, support, and resettlement across the section through Binh Phuoc province" under the North-South Expressway Construction Investment Project, Western section, Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) - Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc).

This is one of the key national projects, initiated by the Prime Minister to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

The ceremony was broadcast live on BPTV1, BPTV2 and digital infrastructures of Binh Phuoc Radio - Television and Newspaper (BPTV), as well as broadcast live nationwide on Vietnam Television.

Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Justice Nguyen Hai Ninh; leaders and former leaders of Binh Phuoc and Dak Nong provinces and a large number of people of Dong Xoai city attended the ceremony.

The North-South Expressway West section from Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) to Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc) is 124.13 km long and is invested in the form of public investment combined with the public-private partnership (PPP) method, with a total investment of about VND 25,540 billion. The project is divided into 5 component projects, including: 1 component project invested in the PPP method and 4 public investment component projects.

As expected, the project will be basically completed in 2026 and put into operation in 2027. After being put into operation, the Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh expressway will not only connect, create new space and development momentum for the two provinces of Binh Phuoc and Dak Nong, but also help exploit land use potential, develop tourism, processing industry, mineral exploitation industry, gradually restructure the economy of the Central Highlands region; contribute to the successful implementation of socio-economic development goals and tasks, ensure national defense and security in the Central Highlands and the Southeast region, and contribute to promoting national development in the era of the Vietnamese people's rise.

The ceremony was honored to welcome Central leaders, leaders and former leaders of Binh Phuoc and Dak Nong provinces, business units and a large number of people of Dong Xoai city.

Special performances praising the Party, Uncle Ho, and love for the homeland were performed at the groundbreaking ceremony.
