On June 16, Mr. Tran Anh Tu - Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) - said that FIFA has sent a letter confirming that Vietnam's two mobile VAR vehicles meet the standards and will likely be tested at the end of the 2023 season.

However, Mr. Tu also emphasized: "The VAR vehicle is a converted 16-seat vehicle, so it needs to be inspected before being allowed to operate and use. In the V-League 2023-2024, VAR will definitely be used throughout the season, so there will need to be at least 4 mobile VAR vehicles to ensure operation." Previously, all the final equipment to operate VAR technology had been imported and installed on mobile VAR vehicles in Vietnam.
In addition to facilities and equipment, the VAR referee's skills must also comply with FIFA's requirements. Therefore, the 18 Vietnamese referees and assistant referees participating in this VAR training course must quickly familiarize themselves with the regulations, protocols, and use of technological devices to analyze situations.
VAR referee Duong Huu Phuc said: "With VAR, referees will have less pressure and increase accuracy. However, VAR is just a system and the operator is still the referee."
