Overcoming injury

Not only beautiful and talented, Thanh Nha also shows a strong will to return to football after an injury she has suffered since the end of 2024. Playing for the Vietnamese women's national team since 2021, Thanh Nha quickly improved and became an important attacking player. She excels in her position with her speed and signature runs down the wing.

Thanh Nhã contributed to two gold medals for the Vietnamese women's team at the SEA Games 31 and 32. She was also a standout player in the Vietnamese women's team's journey in the 2022 Asian Cup and the 2023 Women's World Cup, including scoring a goal against Germany in a friendly match.

Unfortunately, Thanh Nha suffered a knee injury and had to stop playing from the end of 2024. For nearly half a year, Thanh Nha has been actively undergoing treatment and rehabilitation. As a professional player, everyone is saddened when they suffer an injury and have to take a long break. But for female players, that sadness is multiplied many times over because, no matter how strong they are, they are always at a disadvantage compared to male players.

After six months without competing, training alone, Thanh Nhã experienced many moments of loneliness, homesickness, and longing for her teammates and the ball. However, she overcame all of that to complete her recovery and return on schedule. And in mid-2025, she was called up to the national team by head coach Mai Đức Chung.

Hopes at the 33rd SEA Games

The 2025 Southeast Asian Women's Championship was Thanh Nha's first international tournament marking her return after injury. At the tournament, Thanh Nha played 5 matches, contributing 1 assist as the Vietnamese women's team won the bronze medal. Following that, Thanh Nha was included in the Vietnamese women's team's training camp and friendly matches in Japan. And now, she is preparing to join the team on their quest for the gold medal in Thailand.

From being just a reserve for her senior teammates, Thanh Nhã has now risen to become a crucial element in the Vietnamese women's national team's attack. She can even fill the roles of older players. Participating for the third time, the SEA Games are highly likely to once again be the stage for this girl from Hanoi and her teammates to bring success to the Vietnamese women's national team.
