The FIFA Club World Cup quarter-final took place at Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Atlanta, USA) between two representatives who have competed many times in the Champions League: PSG coached by coach Luis Enrique and Bayern Munich under the leadership of Vincent Kompany. The expectation of a top-notch match was rewarded with a dramatic, emotional performance and no shortage of controversial moments.
Michael Olise missed many chances early in the match.
The match heated up right after the opening whistle, when both PSG and Bayern Munich started openly. Desire Doue almost opened the scoring early for PSG with a shot that went just wide of the post after a mistake by Michael Olise of Bayern Munich.
The two teams continuously played tit for tat towards each other's goal. However, the strikers on both sides showed no luck and the excellence of the two goalkeepers Donnarumma and Neuer caused the first half to end without a goal.

The turning point came in the 78th minute, after Harry Kane dropped deep but carelessly lost the ball in the midfield area, PSG organized a quick counterattack. Ruben Neves passed the ball back to Desire Doue who finished right on the edge of the penalty area. Out of sight, goalkeeper Neuer was completely surprised when the ball went into the near corner.
PSG struggled to play with only 9 players on the field
At the end of the match, PSG was left with only 9 men on the field after Willian Pacho and substitute Lucas Hernandez received red cards.
However, the Champions League champions still found a second goal. Achraf Hakimi beat three Bayern Munich players on the right wing before passing to Ousmane Dembele who finished decisively, giving goalkeeper Neuer no chance to block.
Dembele scored the decisive goal, sinking Bayern Munich
With only seconds left in the match, the referee awarded Bayern Munich a penalty after judging that Nuno Mendes had committed a high foul on Muller when the two were fighting for the ball in the penalty area. But after reviewing VAR, the referee overturned the decision and that was the end of the crazy match.
