On the afternoon of August 1, President To Lam and President of Timor-Leste Jose Ramos-Horta, who are on an official State visit to Vietnam, visited the Ho Chi Minh Museum - which preserves documents, artifacts, and original films about the life and revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh.

Here,President To Lam and President Jose Ramos-Horta were introduced to the exhibits and important milestones in the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh, from his childhood, when he left to find a way to save the country, the process of returning to the country to participate in revolutionary activities until his death and the Vietnamese people's implementation of his Will.

Admiring the valuable historical artifacts and documents related to President Ho Chi Minh displayed at the museum, President of Timor-Leste Jose Ramos-Horta shared with President To Lam his feelings and admiration for the great career of President Ho Chi Minh and the revolutionary struggle for national independence of Vietnam.

After President Ho Chi Minh passed away, in response to the wishes of the Vietnamese people, the Politburo and the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam decided to build the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the Ho Chi Minh Museum. After 20 years of preparation and construction, on May 19, 1990, the Ho Chi Minh Museum was inaugurated on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday.

Ho Chi Minh Museum has a total area of up to 18,000m2 , located in a complex combined with relics such as Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Presidential Palace, One Pillar Pagoda. This is an invaluable asset of the Vietnamese people in educating patriotism, studying the pure ideology and morality of President Ho Chi Minh; nurturing generations of Vietnamese people to faithfully and excellently continue his great revolutionary cause.

As a center for preserving and introducing the life of President Ho Chi Minh associated with the nation, country and era, the Ho Chi Minh Museum also has exhibition areas related to the life, fighting and victory of the Vietnamese people in implementing the path of national liberation and building the country under the leadership of President Ho Chi Minh and the Communist Party founded by him as well as some major events in world history from the end of the 19th century to the present, affecting the activities of President Ho Chi Minh and the Vietnamese revolutionary process.

Over the past 34 years, the museum has welcomed tens of millions of visitors, including millions of international visitors who have come to visit and study the life, career, ideology and morality of President Ho Chi Minh.
